Construction Superintendent
Heavy Civil- Site Development Construction–Excavation – Site Work Construction-Roadway
Our client specializing in civil construction, is actively seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent. This role will manage a variety of site work/heavy construction projects (Utilities, Roadway/Highway, Concrete, Excavation, Structural Steel, Storm & Sewer Lines, etc.) throughout the local tristate area.

Position Description
- A qualified Superintendent is an individual who provides the technical knowledge, people skills and experience to bid & effective estimate assigned projects. The Estimator will accomplish the professional aspects of the role primarily by means of direct efforts and through effective communication and team work of company professionals.
- This role includes an understanding of site work construction, along with the ability to interact & effectively communicate with field personnel, sub-contractors and team members in a professional timely and efficient manner.
- Applicants must have both technical & people management skills
- Site work construction field understanding, accurate & efficient time and staff management,
- Excellent people skills- communicating, listening, cooperating as a team member, solving problems, contributing in meetings, resolving conflict, setting an example, teambuilding, making decisions, planning, instructing, coaching and motivating
Responsibilities:
- Manage field operations including project scheduling, contract documents and scope of work
- Supervision and participation ensuring work meets contract specifications
- The accurate take-off of quantities and the determination of material requirements from project plans and specifications
- Evaluate and set project safety, production, quality goals
- Coordinate and execute daily and weekly plans
- Understand and monitor jobsite budgets
- Perform jobsite quality control checks
- Ensure efficiency and quality assurance
- Assess jobsite productivity, quality, safety, and scheduling of manpower and equipment
- Review equipment and manpower to maximize project efficiency
- Ensure project progress meets client expectations
- Maintain strict construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Requirements:
- At least Five (5) or more years’ experience in the construction industry with relevant project experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Computer proficient: Microsoft programs as well as HCSS HeavyBid & HeavyJob
