Field Controls Engineer
You will provide project support in-house and at customer sites. Travel to customer sites to install new equipment, new machines, and troubleshoot repair existing machines. Provide support to customer personnel in the setup and use of machines. Control system startup service through commissioning phases. The ability to travel 50%. 2 plus years’ Industrial Automation experience.
An understanding of Machine and Barcode Reading Systems. Machine Vision Lighting and Lenses. Robot Integration & Controls, Track & Trace, PLC’s, HMI’s, Machine Controls & Panels. Motion Controllers, Servo, Sensors and Components used in Industrial Automation Systems.
Vision application experience including Cognex, Keyence, Sick, LMI and Dalsa. Controls programming, configuration, or troubleshooting experience. Familiarity with modern industrial networks (Ethernet) and communication protocols (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc), and legacy serial communications (RS232/485). AutoCAD/CAM software is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software and Windows operating systems. Strong analytical and mechanical problem solving skills.
Key words – Machine Controls, PLC’s, Motion Controls, HMI’s, Automation, Robots, Machine Vision, Barcode Reading. Cognex’s InSight, VisionPro, and Designer platforms. DataMan industrial barcode readers. Keyence, SICK, LMI Technologies, and Dalsa. Metaphase Technologies, Opto Engineering, Smart Vision Lights, Edmund Optics, Fujinon, etc. Robots, Universal Robot and FANUC. PLCs, Motion Controllers, and HMIs from Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Beckhoff Integrator Network (BIN)), Danaher Motion, Trio Motion, Red Lion, and AutomationDirect. Ethernet IP, 3rd party connectivity, etc.
This position requires an Engineering Degree, Associates Degree or work experience. This position requires US Citizenship, Perm Resident or Green Card. The ability to travel up to 50%. Generous salary and benefits package is provided.
Additional knowledge and skills are considered a plus. Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley PLC’s, RSLogix 5000/500/5, Studio, Factory Talk, Wonderware System Platform, PanelView Plus, RSBizWare RSBatch, etc. SCADA and HMI packages (Intellution, and Wonderware).
