Process/Utilities Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-6 years Utilities /Waste Treatment Production Engineering experience
  • Degree in Mechanical (preferred) or Chemical Engineering
  • Strongly motivated individual who works independently with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of plant processes.
  • Ability to work in a team based environment and lead a team towards a common goal.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize thoughts and actions to help achieve unit objectives and long-term vision.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data
  •  A general knowledge of oil refinery operations is beneficial. 

 Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor and improve efficiency of process units operations(Steam boilers, Waste Water Treatment plant, Gas Desulfurization)
    • Perform project management duties related to logistic planning, scope creation, project schedule and coordination.
    • Provide overall project management including cost, schedule and technical management, and use judgment to independently assess issues relative to cost, schedule, and technical issues.
    • Must have extensive, hands-on, expertise relevant to WFI, Clean Steam, HVAC, and other related clean utility systems.
    • Work collaboratively and build effective relationships with engineering team, builder, facility operations, quality assurance, and validation departments.
    • Effectively lead project team including Project Engineers, and other technical staff.
    • Manage staffing resources and direct construction priorities.
    • Establish necessary priority deadlines and accountability for self and others.
    • Promote strong relationships between contractors, suppliers and client personnel.
  • Monitors the status of projects in the unit and drives them to completion. Stewards the Management of Change program for the area.
  • Identifies, develops and implements programs to improve unit safety, quality, reliability and profitability. Insures all technical and procedural systems operate properly.
  • Motivates self and others to achieve unit goals and objectives. Leads unit shutdown efforts by coordinating project and maintenance activities with production plan.
  • Provides Guidance to team members, leads problem solving processes and root cause analysis.
