Job Details:
My client is looking for Commissioning Building Engineer for their New Jersey office. This person will understand the ins and outs of Building Energy Systems and commissioning new and existing projects for residential construction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist design and construction teams by reviewing equipment submittals and shop drawings for overall compliance with the design intent, owner’s project goals, code requirements and functional testing processes.
- Organize and lead on-site construction contractors’ commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and control systems.
- Prepare accurate and timely progress reports to communicate commissioning progress and issues with project time.
- Develop and write clear and concise commissioning plans and reports.
- Perform retro commissioning and diagnostic work to assist our clients in maximizing the performance of systems in existing buildings.
- Mentor others in the roles and responsibilities of building commissioning.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring that established schedules are being met
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Architecture degree or related work experience
- Commissioning Certification a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of HVAC engineering theories and methodologies
- Knowledge of building automation and controls
- Knowledge of design documents
- Reliable travel abilities
