Controls Engineer
Position Summary
The Controls Engineer in our Engineering department will be accountable to meet daily and weekly engineer goals, while also meeting quality, accuracy, and safety objectives.

Relationships
The Controls Engineer will report directly to the Engineer Manager and will work closely with R&D, appication engineers and customers
Responsibilities:

- Able to apply project management principles to lead and manage capital projects and process improvement initiatives related to electrical, control, and mechanical engineering.
- Subject matter expert and technical support of industrial control systems:
- PLC - Allen Bradley, Point IO, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Structured Text/Ladder Logic
- HMI - Ignition, FactoryTalk
- VFD - PowerFlex, Danfoss
- Robotics - FANUC Delta, FANUC LR Mate
- Database - SQL Server, PI System
- Develop and commission distributed control systems for process control.
- Review accuracy and approve one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and P&ID diagrams.
- Specify the following for projects and process improvement: analog vs. digital components, AC vs. DC power, NPN vs. PNP, and sinking vs. sourcing.
- Perform root cause analysis, able to analyze and problem solve.
- Can prioritize workload effectively to support company needs.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, adept knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ISA, NEMA and IEC standards and regulations.
- Uphold quality standards.
- Adhere to attendance policy, punctual.
- Promote company values and world-class culture.
- Capable of working in a team environment, open to training, positive attitude with high expectations of oneself; result-oriented with a sense of urgency when needed.
Required Position Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related focus.
- Ability to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently in English.
- 8+ years of Control Engineering experience.
- Certified Project Management Professional or Lean Six Black Belt.
- 2+ applicable certifications (Rockwell Automation, FANUC, NFPA, UL etc.).
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products.
- Trained and mentored direct reports in a previous supervisory role.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Food and Beverage background.
