Job Details:
Plumber - Service Technician
- Assumes responsibility for effectively completing plumbing functions.
- Ability to perform back-flow testing and gas testing
- Assemble pip sections, tubing or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
- Studies building plans and working drawings to determine tools required and sequences of installations.
- Assembles and installs metal and nonmetal valves, pipe fittings, and pipes using hand tools and power tools.
- Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
- Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observed pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
- Responds to requests for miscellaneous plumbing services.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining related records.
- Assists area staff as needed.
- Ensures that management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
