Automation Controls Engineer
You will be working in a group engineering team to develop process control system applications on a variety of platforms. You will be involved in projects utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems. You will provide operational support responsible for fielding support requests from manufacturing and facilities personnel and provide hardware and software troubleshooting assistance.
You will provide solutions to issues identified with equipment and systems. Gather necessary information and identify personnel required for assistance. Understand customer standard operating procedures. Analyze a running system using PLC code to determine the root cause of an issue. Read and understand system drawings and design documents. Develop solutions to known issues and document. Create a technical evaluation and test plan using customer supplied templates. Update system drawings and design documents to reflect modifications.
Experience with Allen-Bradley products required (Control Logix, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, PanelView Plus, RSBizWare RSBatch, etc.) Experience programming various other control systems is a plus (i.e., GE, Siemens, DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Honeywell DCS, Intellution iFix, and Wonderware). Experience implementing control system electrical design packages as required. Instrumentation experience is a plus. GMP, cGMP and validation experience is a plus.

Work experience in the Lifesciences industry is a plus. Lifesciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, etc. CIP/SIP, and equipment – bioreactors, mixing tanks, clean utilities, filtration systems, piping and instrumentation (P&ID).
This is a 3rd shift position working 10 hour days 4 days a week. Off 3 days a week. Plus extra pay for shift work.
B.S. Engineering, Associates Degree, and/or other technical degree and experience. Strong leadership skills, excellent presentation and communication skills.
