Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation)
Respected Automation Systems Integrator seeks Mechanical Designer with Solidworks proficiency:
- REQUIRED:
5+ years’ experience using SolidWorks CAD software for machine design. Must be currently
using SolidWorks on a daily basis for automation design. - Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferably mechanical
- Experience with motion control systems strongly preferred
- Servo drives experience
- 4+ years of designing a wide variety of automation equipment (high precision,
testing, high speed, high force, heavy duty, etc.)
- Technical Leadership/Project Management background
- Ability to craft timing charts
- PLC's, HMI's, DCS, SCADA, VFD programming & design
- PLC programming from scratch: Rockwell/Allen Bradley MicroLogix, SLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, FlexLogix, Wonderware InTouch & ArchestrA, Siemens, Modicon, Schneider Electric, GE Fanuc
- Understanding of which sensors, materials, processes, and equipment to use for a particular application.
- Knowledge includes:
- HMI, PLC, I/O, high speed input cards, analog vs digital, 0-10v vs 4-20ma,
- High flex cabling, sensor connector choices
- CAT track, cabling & hose routing - GD&T
- Write technical documentation (manuals, service instructions)
- Machine shop and/or assembly experience
- Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Water/Wastewater, Military, Manufacturing experience preferred
- AC/DC, hydraulics & pneumatics, P&ID's, I/O
- Valid drivers license and US Citizenship is required
- Ability to travel 10%
- Superior client interaction skills
