Primary Responsibilities:
We are currently searching for an experienced engineer to serve as a project manager for third party development reviews in our Fort Worth office. This position will focus on serving as an extension of City staff to perform review of proposed development to confirm that the plans meet City criteria. Applicant should be able to manage and perform routine to complex engineering work related to stormwater modeling and design that requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Experience with the design and analysis of land development or third party development review is a requirement. Experience with the preparation or review of design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs of closed systems, open channels, culverts and bridges, and detention ponds is required.
Applicant must have experience with hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design software as follows: Microstation/AutoCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, Infoworks ICM, or XP-SWMM is considered a plus.
Applicant must be able to communicate clearly through strong technical writing as well as in verbal situations such as meetings and presentations. Applicant must work well in a team environment and be able to address multiple concurrent priorities successfully. Applicant must be willing to interface with clients/applicants and develop strong working relationships through project interaction.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 7 years of relevant experience in drainage or development engineering. Applicant must be a Registered Professional within the State of Texas or able to become registered within one month of starting.
