Senior Accountant
Bethlehem, PA
$65-80,000 and Bonus
Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will have a strong foundation of accounting with an analytical mind to be able to handle a large volume of data. In this role, the core functions will be focused around recording transactions, revenue recognition, and improving the operating effectiveness for contract and revenue accounting processes. In addition, you will be assist with financial statement preparation, month & year close functions, and other related accounting projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recording journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage a portfolio of customer contracts performing soup to nuts accounting
- Perform month end close, account balances, internal controls, financial schedule preparation, monthly forecasts, etc.
- Be the key point of contact for your portfolio when working cross functionally with technical accounting, consolidations, and other departments
- Work closely with the financial analysis department to assist with monthly forecasts
- Work with the organization’s facilities to setup Contracts in the ERP system, input and upload accounting/billing data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of public accounting or corporate accounting within a large organization
- CPA or progress towards in highly preferred
- 3+ years of prior revenue and/or contract accounting experience is a plus
