Job Details:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy to drive growth and maximize profitability with new and existing markets, channels and customers. This position will partner with the Business Managers to provide support to each business through Business Strategy, Product Marketing, Brand Management and Marketing Research & Communications. This position reports to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development.
Performance Areas
Business Strategy:
- Develop market, competitor and product expertise to help determine current and future market selection, product mix, target customer acquisition, alliance partnerships and innovation in support of long-term vision to be the Trusted Partner for Specialty Refined Solutions
Product Marketing:
- Working with existing customers, product managers and R&D to identify and grow business by leveraging core capabilities along with new products or services in new markets to include International and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
- Lead innovation efforts to identify new product and market opportunities
- Define the Unique Value Proposition for current products and services which separates us from our competition and apply the “4 P’s” of marketing to develop product line marketing plans
- Develop of Tactical Plans, inclusive of Sales Support, to drive sales with existing and new products in existing and new channels and markets
Brand Management:
- Own Brand Management – development, positioning and standardized message across the businesses
- Define the current and future value of all our brands
Marketing Research & Communications:
- Lead Marketing team to support businesses through market and competitor analysis to understand size, growth projections, barriers to entry and differentiation opportunities
- Leverage different technologies to deliver consistent new account lead generation to support Inside and Outside Sales efforts
- Generate sales support by designing advertising campaigns, creating promotional materials, developing marketing collateral, coordinating onsite and offsite events, implementing Social Media Plan, coordinating Website Design, tracking marketing expenses and budgetary compliance, designing and maintaining presentation and exhibition booths, implementing and tracking the effectiveness of ad campaigns and PR initiatives while monitoring for quality control of brand and messaging
Team Development and Management:
Performance Measurement and Review – Establish team financial objectives, strategic projects and development goals to be tracked monthly and reviewed quarterly
