Electrical Estimator
Estimator – Sr. Estimator – MEP- Preconstruction- GC- Construction Management
An excellent GC/CM construction company in the local area is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Sr. Estimator to join the team. This role is responsible for securing profitable work through comprehensive electrical estimates and superior customer service, while effectively utilizing and contributing to the team’s success. This role will either directly or indirectly through supportive staff have the following duties:
- Strong working knowledge of electrical construction methods, processes and management practices
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Efficient & responsive to the needs of internal and external clients alike
- Build estimates and proposals (lump sum, GMP, Cost Plus) based on an understanding of design, constructability, and sequencing of a project
- Experience preparing reports and estimating documents for projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs
- Manage estimating process and timelines to meet company objectives, both short and long term.
- Perform necessary research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing.
- Communicate with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing, and build relationships.
- Provide leadership and direction, to junior estimating team members
- Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives and senior management.
- Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards / probabilities.
- Must be able to complete accurate take-offs, and prepare scopes and schedules
- Works well with all levels of team in a productive manner
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Extremely detail-oriented and well-organized
- Strong employment history
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least four (4) or more years of relevant electrical estimating experience in electrical construction.
- Degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management or related industry)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience in relevant industry estimating software a plus but not required (AccuBid, ConEst, McCormick, EBM (Electrical Bid Manager), On-Screen Takeoff, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and efficient.
- Able to provide a high level of customer service.
