Engineering Manager (Oil & Gas)

Work in a cross functional environment comprised of process/applications engineering, supply chain, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, drafting/design, and other disciplines to ensure equipment designs are in compliance applicable industry standards and Codes, Customer Specifications and as well as standards for quality, safety, and reliability.

  • Work under minimal supervision and highly self-motivated, manage a team of Engineers and designers, that directly interface with Process/Application Engineers, Project Managers, and other functional groups
  • Plans, assigns, prioritize and reviews the work of designers/drafters. Ability to effectively plan work tasks.
  • Resolve design conflicts provide sound design solutions.
  • Establishes deadlines, develops goals, and determines production standards for the department.
  • Play key role in new product development and design
  • Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to the department
  • Analyzes data and reviews drawings and plans to ensure quality of work and project feasibility.
  • Provides CAD technical support and develops solutions for all application problems.
  • Ensure necessary detailed drawings are provided to the shop and necessary design information to contractors
  • Review customer specs to confirm design compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of drafting man-hours estimates and schedule
  • Create and maintain design documents specific to the particular project based on applicable codes, client specifications, and approved exceptions
  • Consult on product applications, customer requirements, or providing solutions to a design problem.
  • Coordinate & evaluate requests for change
  • Review subcontractor calculations and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards
  • Assist shop with mechanical / structural engineering design, as required
  • Review vessel drawings and re-run calculations, as required, to ensure conformity
  • Provides effective direction for subordinate designers to ensure consistency.
  • Development of company design systems, standards and procedures
  • Establishes and participates in engineering standards and manufacturing design standards.

Education and experiences

  • Strong knowledge of Production Equipment
  • Working Knowledge of ASME B&PV Code Section VIII-1, Section IX, Weld Procedures and performing ASME Code VIII-1 design and calculations.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques for vessels, piping and structures associated testing techniques and established industry QC requirements.
  • Must have strong experience with Fabrication/ Welding Techniques
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering/technology field
  • Experience utilizing Solidworks
