Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer

Job duties will consist of (but not be limited to):
Job duties will consist of (but not be limited to):
- Electrical and controls system layout and design
- Electrical schematics and panel design
- PLC and HMI programming
- Industrial controls device configuration and setup
- System debug, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting
- Visual Studio (C# or VB.net) programming (not necessary but a plus if applicable)
- Ensure all designs adhere and comply with all applicable specifications and standards, including UL508A
- Modify existing control systems to resolve chronic failures and/or improve operational performance
- Participate in preparation of internal quotes, recommendations for materials, methods, and cost estimates
- Mentor technical staff in techniques required to upgrade their electrical engineering design capabilities
- Ability to interact with management and clients/vendors
Job Requirements
The qualifications for the job:
- BS of Electrical/Industrial Engineering or Computer Sciences
- At least 7 years of experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (specifically AutoCAD Electrical and MS Excel)
- Must understand industry engineering, design concepts and practices
- Willingness to travel (typically 15% or less)
- Strong ability to work effectively within time constraints, changing priorities, and independently
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills (with all levels of management, clients and vendors)
- Must possess and maintain a high degree of safety awareness
