Capital Equipment Procurement Manager
My client is seeking a Purchasing Manager. Who will be responsible for managing the daily purchasing/planning activities. Emphasis will be placed on sourcing to preferred suppliers, understanding the cost structures of key commodities, insuring the timely delivery of material, optimizing inventory levels, fulfilling import/export requirements, monitoring and improving supplier performance, meeting annual cost reduction goals, leading/supporting strategic projects, and implementing process improvements where appropriate.
Tasks
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Adhere to all company compliance and integrity initiatives.
• Demonstrate collaborative problem solving across disciplines/functions.
• Monitor supplier performance and establish improvement plans as required.
• Perform supplier quality assessments as required by the local business
• Insure the timely delivery of material.
• Manage inventory levels to maximize consistent with local objectives.
• Participate in integrated business planning activities to insure effective value chain planning.
• Execute strategic projects as required by the local business.
• Greenfield opportunities
• Acquisitions
• Support R&D in meeting cost targets for new product development efforts.
• Improve net working capital by extending payment terms with key supplier as appropriate.
• Support achievement of annual cost savings targets.
• Maintain standard SCM metrics that serve as a management tool for running the business on a daily basis (savings, supplier quality, supplier delivery, inventory, GBS utilization, stock-outs, etc.).
• Collaborate with colleagues to insure the success of the local business.
• Develop and implement SCM process/tool improvements as required.
• Share best SCM practices across division sites.
• Insure the company is legally protected in all contracting (legal reviews, terms and conditions, etc.).
• Complete monthly reporting as required by management.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of demonstrated effectiveness as a Senior Buyer, Procurement Manager or Purchasing Manager in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years of demonstrated effectiveness as a Buyer or Senior buyer in Capital Equipment manufacturing production environment.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Excellent data analysis skills demonstrated.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills (technical and commercial issues).
• Self-starter and self-guided.
• Excellent overall business acumen.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Collaborative and team oriented.
• Ability to manage remote resources as needed.
