My client has a full time opening for a unique Big Data Developer role in West Chester, PA.This is a hybrid role: 70% development...30% admin.
An ideal candidate will have 5-10 years as a Java/C#, ETL, SQL or data integration Developer and will have be well versed with Big Data and Hadoop.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates Data Integration needs
- Utilize Scala, Spark, SQL, Kafka to engineer new software
- Supporting current and new Applications
- Develops Hadoop monitoring/alert systems
- Administrating, analyzing, and optimization within components of Hadoop
- Works with cross-functional teams: network, database, infrastructure, and development teams
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Hadoop and Hadoop Administration or monitoring
- Experience with Big Data
- Java, C++, or C# programming languages
- RDBMS, SQL
- Linux
- Spark
- Shell Scripting
- Scheduling Tools
Preferred technologies
- Kafka
- Python
- R
A Bachelor's Degree in STEM is required for this position
