Hedge Fund Accountant

Role:
A large financial services firm, located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, is looking to add a Fund Accountant to their team. This individual will report to the controller and assist with fund valuations including accruals, fee computations, Net Asset Value calculations, security valuations, as well as income allocations.
Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for fund accounting process including:
- Daily reconciliation of cash balances
- Daily/Monthly reconciliation of investment positions and market values
- Trade processing
- Gathering and processing corporate actions
- Confirming validity of corporate actions and significant price changes with independent source
- Calculation and recording of fees
- Review of accruals and expense items
- Interaction with investment managers and prime brokers to resolve questions and reconciliation differences
- Analytical review of daily and monthly results
- Review of daily hedge fund reports prior to distribution
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have at least 2+ years of relevant industry experience and/or public accounting background with financial services clients. CPA is an asset but not required.
