Business Development Director - CME
Continuing Medical Education- Medical Education- Medical Communications – Healthcare Communications
- My client an excellent Continuing Medical Education Company, a leader in creating and developing Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for Healthcare professionals is actively seeking to add a Director of Business Development for their European business. Proven successful experience selling CME-Continuing Medical Education in a New Business Development / Sales role within a Medical Education Company is required. This role will be based within the UK and will work & communicate with their US counterparts regularly.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- The main responsibility of this position is to effectively communicate and work with pharmaceutical, biotech & grantors to develop and expand business opportunities in the CME (Continuing Medical Education) space.
- Identify CME opportunities & partner relationships to strategically extend the reach and diversify grantor base in a variety of therapeutic areas
- Direct the internal execution of CME learning activities.
- Maintain and develop new relationships in the ever changing CME environment.
- Ability to be self-motivated with strong initiative & CME business understanding to meet the challenges of today's competitive and highly regulated pharmaceutical marketplace.
- Market awareness and pharmaceutical pipeline knowledge to help create strong grants that will aid in potential new business.
- This position requires an individual with strong communication skills (both written & verbal), outgoing, professional, hungry sales person with a strong understanding of the CME industry and able to interact with grantors and management at all levels.
- Working knowledge of CME guidelines and ACCME policies
- Excellent organizational, strong leadership, client service skills with a focus on sales / business development, excellent judgment, reasoning, and interpersonal skills to work effectively and manage diverse personalities in a “team” idealized company.
Requirements
- At least Four (4+) or more years of recent sales/business development experience in (CME) Continuing Medical Education. Individuals with more experience are also desired. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Ability to travel within Europe, ideally with ties to the region and an understanding of international CME requirements & capabilities.
- A college degree
- Existing client contacts or relationships that would help you to expand existing and/or potential new business opportunities are desired and beneficial.
- Strong ability and understanding of science is desired.
- Strong understanding of the grant submission and grant writing process
- Excellent communication, relationship building and team management skills
- Top notch client service & sales skills experience.
