Senior technical Accountant
Role:
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will report to a Financial Reporting Manager and be primarily responsible for working with the SEC filings, the monthly close process, financial statement disclosures,income statement, cash flow, inter company reporting, as well as performing periodic testing for the company's SEC filings. This would also include a combination of the following duties including the cash flow statements, proxy information, assisting with implementation of standards, assisting divisional controllers with year end, adjustments, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Applies advanced accounting concepts to draft and maintain accounting documentation which describes in technical detail the company's strategy and testing processes
- Performs technical accounting research to conclude on and write position papers regarding the accounting treatment
- Provides technical accounting support and presents to upper management
- Prepares and analyzes internal management reports for the accounting impact of the company's financial activity
- Produces the statement of cash flows on a quarterly basis
- Generates financial statement disclosures on instruments and accounting for the company's SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q)
- Prepares and analyzes monthly balance sheet reconciliations to identify and ensures timely resolution of outstanding items
- Prepares quarterly balance sheet and income statement variance analytics for activity
- Responsible for supporting the Corporate Accounting Manager of Consolidations in general ledger/consolidations accounting, including but not limited to, the following areas:
- Calculate and analyze consolidation exchange rates
- Journal entry review and approval
- Develop and standardize a chart of accounts, and assure consistency of reporting among business units in accordance with US GAAP
- Represent consolidations to support the design, development and implementation of the corporate SAP Planning solution to all business units, including international entities
- Participate in various special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required. Master's or MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of relevant auditing or public accounting experience with publicly traded clients and/or within a publicly traded organization.
- CPA or progress towards is highly preferred
