Job Details:
Manage and coordinates all activities associated within the plant - Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Materials
Manage 25 plus union personnel, 1 materials manager, and 2 supervisors
Established goals and objectives
Develop & Implement programs which result in World Class organization utilizing lean production and process improvements
Responsible for the safety program
Responsible for adherence to annual budgets
Ensure quality standards and process, delivery schedules, efficient shipping and receiving
Interface with Engineering and Sales/Marketing to coordinate the production process for the introduction of new products
Oversee company-wide procurement activities and direct the negotiations of major procurement contracts to provide proper cost, delivery and quality commitments
Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Requires -
10 years related experience directing a manufacturing division
Experience and success with Lean Manufacturing implementation and working knowledge of
such tools as 5S, Kanban, Kaizen events, S.M.E.D., visualization, standardized work, mistake
proofing/poke yoke and product/cellular layout, experience with ISO 9001 certification,
management in a Union environment, hands-on, interactive plant floor management. Local
and/or available to relocate to northern New Jersey. Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word & MS
Office. Automotive, aerospace, similar industry experience, any transformer industry
experience is a plus. Medical, dental, vision, hospital, prescription, Life, LTD, 401k, and vacation,
personal time, holidays.
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or other degree and/or direct industry experience. US Citizen or Perm Resident is required. Key words – Plant Manager, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Management, transformer, automotive, aerospace, etc.
