Job Details:
SALES ENGINEER
A qualified candidate will be a proven leader in the field of material handling sales with an existing client base, an excellent professional reputation, proven sales history, and a desire to help clients solve problems. Our sales executives manage their existing client base and are responsible for new account development as well.
Drafting
- Review current drawings to confirm dimensions. Maintain continuity in tolerances and other key drawing components.
- Create CAD drawings from existing (pencil) drawings when requested.
Customer Contact
- Develop a working knowledge of the product line and industry in order to become conversant with our customer base.
- Assist in taking customer calls and processing customer inquiries.
- Engineer special units, options or accessories as directed by the customers and marketing staff.
Research & Development
- All current and new product design may include any or all of the following duties: Overall Design, Drafting, Material Selection, Sourcing, Procurement, Oversight of Prototype Production, Testing, Field Analysis and Follow-Up.
- Re-design current products for better performance, better appearance, or lower cost.
- Develop new products within the guidelines of management.
- Oversee testing of new and existing products in regards to overall product design, safety, life expectancy, stress and failure analysis, market viability, etc. Such testing and development may occur in-house or in the field.
Production
- Review current plant operations as requested to improve flow of product, machining, assembly and total plant engineering.
- Assist in production tooling development as needed to update current fixtures/tooling and design new fixtures/tooling.
Other
- Maintain print file, engineering change request (ECR) file, project files and engineering data library.
- Develop an "Engineering Criteria" log. This log is designed to contain all information concerning the procedures, tolerances of measurements, print style and main print criteria.
- Become familiar with OSHA, ANSI and ASME Standards as they relate to our products.
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested.
