Job Title Buyer/Planner II
Basic Job Functions
o Responsible for obtaining bids and placing orders for supplies, materials, services, and equipment.
o Negotiates pricing and delivery with key vendors, supports the qualification of new suppliers and plans inventory levels according to established guidelines and in a cost efficient manner.
o Responsible for assuring Purchasing Orders are placed and deliveries are scheduled and maintained to meet production requirements of one or more critical production material commodities and production consumables.
Experience
o 3-5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
o Manage 40+ suppliers of commodities
o Strong cost saving track record
Education
o Four year college degree in Purchasing or related fields or equivalent.
o Has good knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Purchasing field.
o Comfortable working with engineering data bases and discussing specification changes with suppliers.
