My client is seeking an experienced Controls Field Technician to serve as the primary resource for our customers for field start up and check out of various control systems and equipment represented by client. The company, the region’s leading supplier of commercial and industrial Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment and systems, combines advanced equipment and software with highly skilled workers to understand its customers’ needs, develop technology, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality equipment and services.

The Controls Field Technician is responsible for field startup and troubleshooting of our systems to ensure a high quality final product to the customer and the end user. Training will be provided for software and hardware that you will be working with.

Primary Responsibilities

• On-site start-up of our products and control systems:
  • Johnson Controls FX Systems
  • Yaskawa Variable Frequency Drives
  • Acme Gas Detection Systems
  • Price Critical Controls
  • Samsung Variable Refrigerant Systems
  • Integration with other vendor controls via BACnet and other networking protocols
  • Interfacing with customers for technical support for our products and systems
  • Completing daily reports to document work performed
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required
  • Perform related responsibilities as required

Secondary Responsibilities

• Some in house duties will be required when not performing field work:
  • Control panel fabrication and check-out
  • Warehouse management, shipping and receiving
  • Customer service and parts selection

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical School graduate – HVAC or Electrical degree
• 2+ years of experience in DDC technician role
• Understanding mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings, including control prints
• Experience with pneumatic, electric and/or electronic controls for HVAC systems
• Tridium certification
• Johnston Controls experience
• Lab control experience
• Experience integrating third party devices and software
• VFD experience
• 1 Year of experience in HVAC technician role
• Good computer skills
• Troubleshooting skills and abilities
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to document daily work
• Work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
