Linux Administrator Engineer Kernel
Our client is seeking a driven, highly experienced Linux administrator engineer to help build and support the technical infrastructure that underlies our client's proprietary applications. This person will be responsible for high-level design of systems design, in-depth performance analysis and troubleshooting, and planning and deployment of new installations of their infrastructure. Strong analytical and creative skills as well as in-depth knowledge of operating systems, scripting, and networks are a must.
Skills/Attributes:
Deep understanding of Linux Operating System internals
Understanding how network stacks, scheduler, virtual memory system, interrupt handling, and device drivers work
Ability to dive into kernel source
Experience with performance analysis and optimization
Familiarity with performance analysis tools (sar, oprofile, vmstat, iostat, strace, systemtap, tcpdump)
Understanding of linux kernel tunables (/proc/sys, sysctl interfaces)
Knowledge of TCP/IP, Multicast, Routing and Switching technology
Extensive experience with scripting with Python
