Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing (MEP) Manager
The MEP Manager provides technical support for HVAC, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing systems to project teams during estimating, preconstruction, construction and closeout phases. The M/E/P Manager may be assigned to multiple projects simultaneously, with timing and level of involvement determined by the needs of the client and project team.The responsibilities listed below are a menu of the services that may be provided by the M/E/P Manager. Specific project responsibilities will be established for each project prior to the kickoff meeting and will vary on a job to job basis.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 6-10 years’ experience;
Proficiency using BIM/CAD tools: Autodesk Revit, NavisWorks, AutoCAD;
Daily Field Reports using Procore;
Competent with industry-standard tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

Essential Functions
Estimating and Pre-Construction
•Provide M/E/P support services throughout the design development phases including:
Document reviews, value engineering options, due diligence to confirm feasibility of systems;
•Participate in the Building, Information and Modeling (BIM) Process;
•Participate in subcontractor solicitation and pricing exercises;
•Review subcontractor estimates and perform scope reviews;
•Develop M/E/P scope narratives to assist Estimating Dept. in preliminary stages of design;
•Identify long lead time items and advise on purchase requirements;
•Review code analysis focusing on ADA, M/E/P and Energy Code compliances and checklists;
•Participate in meetings with local officials during permitting phase;
•Advise on energy rebate opportunities;
•Assist Purchasing Department in reviewing subcontracts and purchase agreements;
•Provide input on project schedules;
•Review subcontractor schedules of value;
Construction
•Hold M/E/P subcontractor kickoff meetings;
•Manage the M/E/P coordination process;
•Hold weekly M/E/P coordination meetings on site with subcontractors;
•Review and inspect M/E/P installations to ensure coordination and quality of work;
•Identify M/E/P deficiencies and report to project team for inclusion on Deficiency Log;
•Review with subcontractors at weekly subcontractor meetings;
•Review monthly payment requisitions and advise on costs-to-complete;
•Review and comment on subcontractor change requests;
•Review and comment on subcontractor submittals and shop drawings;
•Attend project meetings with owner as requested;
•Assist team and commissioning agent during commissioning phase is required;
•Assist team in developing close-out schedule as it relates to M/E/P work;
•Include permitting and inspection requirements and commissioning;
•Evaluate M/E/P as-built drawings and O&M Manuals;
•Review and comment on subcontractor submittals and shop drawings;
•Attend project meetings with owner as requested;
•Assist team and commissioning agent during commissioning phase is required;
•Assist team in developing close-out schedule as it relates to M/E/P work;

•Evaluate M/E/P as-built drawings and O&M Manuals;
Competencies
•Understanding of HVAC, electrical, fire protection and plumbing systems;
•Proficient in NavisWorks and AutoCAD;
•General understanding of project scheduling;
•Ability to comprehend CPM schedules and to author coordination schedules;
•Capable of negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers;
•Knowledge and understanding of construction methods, materials and sequences;
•Understanding the change order management process;
•Understanding of the subcontractor payment and owner requisition processes;
•Strong written and oral communications skills, intiative and problem solving abilities
