Director of Global IT Architecture Manufacturing 30% national and international travel

The Director of Enterprise Architecture will lead a team of solution architects and will work closely with IT and business leadership in order to design target landscape in support of overall business strategy. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for leading global architecture governance, establishing and managing IT standards, evaluating and providing recommendations on emerging technologies, establishing and managing application platform life-cycle management, and providing project solution architecture assessment, design, and approvals.
Responsibilities
• Manage architecture input into developing the strategic direction over the Business Processes, applications, Data and integration.
• Define processes to design and communicate the architecture standards, guidelines and statements of direction by tracking the quality, availability and applicability of data and the integration of architecture applications and standards. Ensuring that architecture standards will allow business needs to be achieved, guiding research on industry standards and technologies to ensure proper questions are raised and answered by stakeholders to ensure the establishment of best practices that guide the design of technology solutions.
• Manage the architecture process for technology solutions by overseeing the development of the company’s data and integration architecture; ensuring appropriate use of enterprise architecture methods and content; ensuring appropriate expertise and capacity are aligned to deliver needs; reviewing and facilitating discussion around architecture alternatives; recommending IT solutions to business leaders based on their business needs; communicating recommendation to senior leadership regarding architecture decisions.
• Research, propose and support the adoption of new technologies within the data and integration domains by collaborating with IT and business leadership to influence decisions regarding technology investment; driving innovation across the team using a deep understanding of how enterprise architecture works within the organization.
• Manage Proof of Concepts (PoC) for new technologies.
• Communicate effectively with key constituents to reinforce the benefits of governance, architecture and standards, ensuring that delivery and operational teams understand the Enterprise Architecture content produced.
• Define, produce and report on Enterprise Architecture progress towards objectives and goals through the EA metrics and value measurement.
• Effectively develop, lead, and manage full application Life-cycle management
• Serve as the principal IT liaison for M&A Due Diligence and related activities.
• Holds managers accountable for building capability and engagement on their teams.
• Proactively identifies and leverages appropriate avenues and team members to drive needed systemic changes in the organization.
• Recruits, develops, and retains IT managers and individual contributors; sponsors and facilitates career/professional development of IT talent.
• Leads and inspires others to deliver superior customer-oriented results while living the Zimmer values.
• Understands the competitive environment, sets and communicates business direction at all levels.
• Delivers results for high-level internal/external partners. May include IC accountability as well as delivering results through others.
• Prioritizes and sets strategic resources and business plans.
• Leads, influences and negotiates to achieve business strategies.
• Ensures IT credibility and leadership in providing value-added business solutions.
• Applies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Competency Model at the Director level.
• Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field with at least 12+ years of relative professional experience required; OR
• Master’s degree in business, IT or related field with at least 10+ years of relative professional experience required preferred
• 10+ years leading Technical Teams
• 7+ years of demonstrated successful experience leading Enterprise Architecture teams in a large / diverse systems landscape: designing, and implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high-availability systems, EA governance, and complete Life-Cycle management –• 7+ years of experience leading the application of Enterprise Architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF
