Job Details:
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing project implementations and development activities from original concept through final implementation based on business requirements submitted from throughout the company. The Project Manager will work with different business units within the company to identify internal customer needs. The individual will be responsible for organizing and managing complex project plans for the development and implementation of strategic business plans and technological projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for adhering to current project management standard processes and ensuring compliance to quality assurance policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide end-to-end project management for complex application development projects which include requirements gathering analysis design planning development testing and implementation of technology solutions.
- Work collaboratively with business partners team members and vendors in defining designing planning and implementing technology solutions to improve business functions.
- Lead the analysis effort to document organizational needs for the development and implementation of technology solutions. Interface with business sponsors to ensure that the technology solutions are developed to meet business needs and specifications.
- Formulate and define project scope objectives constraints and assumptions using existing documented processes based upon business needs as well as a thorough knowledge of the application business operations and industry.
- Develop detailed project plans schedules estimates resource plans and monitor project status for significant deviations.
- Track project progress, modify project schedules and provide status updates to project team. Escalate issues to management and/or appropriate leadership as appropriate.
- Apply experiences with existing software development processes to develop better processes for future use. Actively influence software development process improvement initiatives.
- Review and test the technology solutions to ensure project requirements have been met and to ensure conformance to development standards.
- Lead the planning for the implementation of large projects which includes the design and execution of acceptance test plans and coordination of user acceptance testing to ensure a successful implementation.
- Regular consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required:
- B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
- Years of varied experience in Information Technology.
- Years in an IT leading project management position.
- Demonstrated experience with MSWord Excel Visio PowerPoint MS Project.
- Extensive experience with planning managing and tracking multiple complex and major impact projects.
- Experience in software development and infrastructure environment
- Experience with the development lifecycle and software development methodologies.
- Strong process development skills with the ability to learn and understand technical concepts in order to interpret document and formalize procedures.
Preferred:
- Experience with other Microsoft technologies a plus
- Extensive experience with managing client expectations implementing service improvement initiatives and communicating effectively with senior management.
- PMP or PMI certification or other Project Manager certifications a plus.
- Experience in legal services industries a plus.
