***MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER***
The Business Development Manager will obtain new mechanical work by establishing relationships with potential buyers of large mechanical construction and specialty services (i.e., tenant finish/remodel, existing system and facilities renovation/retro-fit, industrial shut-downs, etc.). He/she will manage potential projects from conception through to signed contract and start of construction.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Create positive working relationships and maintain regular contact with potential clients. Emphasize standing as a reputable provider and valuable partner for mechanical services.
- Facilitate the development of a business plan, including methods, contact personnel and short and long-term goals regarding new work, contract negotiations, and future work potential. Ensure consistency with overall business plan and market strategy.
- Arrange and conduct meetings with potential client management, staff and supervisory personnel. Create high quality presentations that explain companies character, policies, skills, resources, and capabilities.
- Determine client needs and evaluate company resources and capabilities in light of those needs.
- Coordinate with Estimating and Engineering to provide conceptual estimating services, value engineering, analysis of alternatives and any other support a client needs to make decisions and achieve their goals.
- Identify new work leads and manage follow-up, recordkeeping and information distribution.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
- Ability to conceptually estimate and budget complex Mechanical work.
- Strong existing relationships in the Dallas area with general contractors, vendors, owners, and A/E community.
- 5 - 10 years minimum in MEP industry, ideally as a manufacturer’s representative or a national factory rep relevant to companies core business.
- Mechanical engineering or construction background preferred.
- Self-driven, motivated, tireless and determined to be more successful than ever in your career.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills, no fear of making cold calls.
