P O S I T I O N S U M M A R Y
Responsible to develop new sales opportunities for HVAC automation, turnkey automation based construction services, or energy performance related opportunities from existing and new accounts. Includes pre-deployment savings calculations/design/energy savings of HVAC automation systems as needed per opportunity. All solutions to be offered based upon approved company pricing standards.
P O S I T I O N R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
- Develop and maintain long term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Partner with internal sales staff to build new BAS opportunities.
- Provide an energy analysis for proposed solutions when applicable
- Identify all state, local, utility rebate solutions and apply to each opportunity accordingly
- Work with customers, end-users, engineers to provide reactive and proactive solutions for building automation.
- Create accurate estimates for installation of line and low voltage BAS wiring, area/unitary HVAC controllers, actuators, relays, sensors and end devices.
- Provide detailed proposals for customer representatives
- Provide timely submission of all proposals and internal documentation
- Effectively demonstrate products and services to customers
- Work with vendors and manufacturer representatives to ensure receipt of most economical pricing and marketing
- Lead project turn-over meetings with internal engineering/management staff
- Work with General Manager on vertical marketing strategies, sales presentations, trade shows, special events, etc.
- Create positive and professional atmosphere when interacting with clients to ensure high level of customer satisfaction
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
- Interact with IT professionals regarding web deployment. Knowledge of user interfaces, data servers, IP networking devices, protocols, routers, switches, and hubs
- Other duties as assigned related to project commissioning such as attending close out meetings with verification of proposed solution
- Ensure all new accounts and proposed solutions are followed with maintenance agreement to ensure long-term satisfaction
- Promptly addresses customer concerns to assure resolution of problems and maintain long- term positive relationships
- Build and maintain positive working relations with field, office and management personnel to resolve problems, exploit opportunities, and maximize profits
- Provide support for any special projects as assigned by your manager
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of HVAC building automation systems
- Associate or BA degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, mechanical design, HVAC, computer technology, or similar field is preferred
- Knowledge of low voltage power, communication, and network wiring practices
- BAS platform certification of any manufacturer (Niagara AX Framework Certification preferred)
- Knowledge of the following systems is preferred:
- Niagara AX and Sedona Platforms
- American Auto-Matrix ASPECT
- American Auto-Matrix PUP protocols
- BACnet, LON, and Modbus protocols
- Additional knowledge of the following systems is a plus:
- Carrier CCN/i-Vu products
- Johnson Controls N2 protocol
- Trane Comm3 and Comm4
- Siemens Apogee
- Knowledge of other proprietary systems in combination with Niagara AX is very useful.
- Training will be available upon hire for existing product line after successful completion of 90 day review period.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work within confined spaces at times
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
10. Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record in order to drive company issued vehicle.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office, E-Mail etc.
- Strong writing skills
- Knowledge of automation fundamentals and standard business operations
- Be punctual to all sales appointments and meetings
- Flexible in work schedule
- Bilingual (not mandatory)
- Able to pass a pre-employment substance screening and background check.
