Job Details:
POSITION TITLE: Senior Help Desk Systems Administrator
SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for supporting the user community and the servers/services/applications they use. The System Administrator reports to the Technical Services Manager and works closely with IT staff, management and end users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and other duties as assigned, satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Handle help desk through tickets or phone
• Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution
• Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process
• Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms
• Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
• Familiar with backup/restore operations
• Administer 3rd party applications
• Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed
Required experience and skills:
• A thorough understanding of Microsoft Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7/8/10 products and ability to learn new versions as released
• Client PC connectivity - Ethernet, TCP/IP, VPN, and wi-fi
• VMware experience
• Antivirus / spam filter software support
• Microsoft Office application support
• Strong Active Directory understanding and ability to apply this knowledge in a multi domain and multi-forest environment
• Network experience including WINS, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently
Preferred experience and skills:
• Microsoft Exchange experience
• Citrix XenApp experience
• Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business experience
• VMware experience
• SharePoint understanding and experience
