Role:
A regional financial services firm is looking to add a qualified auditor to their team. This individual will report to the Director of Internal audit and be responsible for performing audits, risk and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, prioritize and complete detailed financial and operational audits to evaluate the effectiveness of management controls, accuracy of financial information and compliance to applicable policies and regulations. Independently perform audit test work and assigned tasks to a high degree of proficiency. This position is responsible for interacting with all levels of management. Individual works with limited direction and relies on independent judgment.
- Plans and develops the audit approach for assigned projects consistent with departmental guidelines and all applicable federal and state banking regulations.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management, in verbal and written form.
- Performs ad hoc requests and special projects; projects may include formal presentations to senior management and/or the Audit Committee.
- Participates in new project development efforts, significant process changes and reengineering efforts throughout the organization
- Assist accounting and finance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience or a blend of public accounting and corporate finance/accounting.
- A CPA or Masters is highly preferred.
- Prior experience auditing or working within the financial services industry
