Role:
A mid-size construction organization located in Allentown, PA is looking for a Senior Accountant. This person will report to a Controller and be fully responsible for all business unit accounting operations including financial statements, reconciliations, invoicing, month end close, project and job cost accounting, taxes, as well as assisting external auditors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide data and financial analyses to support business development and strategic planning initiatives.
- Oversee daily activities of the accounting department.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, judge accuracy, appropriateness and plausibility of reports and financial proposal.
- Oversees audit processes, both internal and external.
- Ensures preparation of the monthly financial statements, related trend analyses and cash flow projections.
- Maintains Reconciliation of Key balance sheet Accounts including Cash, AR, AP, and Fixed Assets
- Reviews Journal entries of staff level for accuracy
- Manages the monthly close calendar
- Assists accounting management with various reports.
- Actively engages with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and cash receipts.
- Assists with client billing and reconciliations.
- Supports Controller in the preparation of monthly accruals.
- Prepares journal entries for appropriate adjustments to balance sheet and income statement account.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of senior accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics / Great Plains
- CPA is preferred but not required
