IT Infrastructure Engineer
Responsibilities
• Ensure day-to-day operations of technology infrastructure, including networks and firewalls
• Work with end users to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
• Routine testing of the system to look for weaknesses and security breaches
• Create and maintain updated IT procedures and documentation
• Maintain disaster recovery plans and provide hands-on support during testing, emergencies, outages, and service transitions
• Research and evaluate technical solutions enhance or upgrade the existing infrastructure equipment
• Assigning, resolving and closing trouble tickets
• Troubleshoot software and hardware failures with the ability to identify common problems and trends as they relate to the end user computing environment
• Maintains desktop support related documentation, PC inventory records, and Knowledge Base Information
• Support a complex IT environment to include: Virtual Servers, Intranets, VPN tunnels, Desktop Support and Remote Devices
• Provide Hardware and Software support to include: Installation, Configuration, Updates, and changes
• Install and monitor security software/appliances to include: Virus Protection, Intrusion detection, and Spam filtering
• Support end users and IT Operations at remote offices
• Perform performance monitoring and tuning to optimize network and system performance
• Comply with all established processes and policies and meet all standards and goals
• Provide end user training and help desk support at Tier III or above
• Provide after-hours support for business critical systems
• Provide guidance to Tier II/I IT staff
* Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of System Administration using multiple OS platforms
• 5+ years of LAN/WAN support in fast paced and dynamic environment
• 5+ years of VOIP Administration
• Linux / Windows / Storage / AD / Citrix
• 5+ years with Hyper-V, VMWare, or other virtual technology
• A can do attitude with the ability to take direction and complete a given task
• In-depth knowledge and experience with major Routing Protocols, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• In-depth knowledge and experience with Layer 2/3 switching and Cisco Meraki platform
• Network analysis fundamentals and robust trouble shooting skills
• Configuring, Load Balancing, and Troubleshooting using routing protocols
• Network Administration with advanced skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and orally
• Must work well in a team environment and adapt to change
• Industry Certifications Preferred – Cisco, Microsoft, and/or VMware
