Job Details:
The ideal candidate is an expert C# / WPF developer who has the talent to solve challenging technical problems, loves designing user-friendly interfaces, and takes satisfaction in seeing people enjoy using the applications they create. Trading industry experience is beneficial but not required (many of us previously worked in other industries). We can easily teach you trading concepts, as long as you have a strong technical background.
What you'll do:
- Develop rich, interactive GUIs in WPF, leveraging the full power of WPF to create GUIs of exceptionally high quality
- Use frameworks and libraries like Caliburn.Micro and Rx (Reactive extensions) to express functionality in an elegant and maintainable way
- Work closely with end users to understand their needs and design innovative and user-friendly applications
- Contribute toward extending and supporting our suite of applications
- Participate in daily scrums, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions
What you'll need:
- Passion for development, strong work ethic, and drive to continually learn and improve
- Desire to make awesome applications which users enjoy using on a daily basis
- 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer in a team environment
- 4+ years of recent experience working with C#
- 4+ years of recent experience working with WPF
- Strong knowledge of C#, including generics, LINQ, etc.
- Deep understanding of WPF and related concepts, including data binding, DataTemplates, ControlTemplates, MVVM, etc.
- Experience with an MVVM framework for WPF, such as Caliburn
- Proven ability to develop complex and rich applications with WPF
- Ability to comfortably write XAML code without the aid of a tool
- Strong knowledge of .NET framework, and recent advances in Windows technologies
- Experience with Git
- Experience in object-oriented design, multithreaded programming, TCP/IP, and client/server architecture
- Expertise in the use of common data structures and algorithms
- Good attention to detail and understanding of UI/UX design
- Dedication to the craft of writing good code - ability to write reliable and readable code, as well as provide code review feedback to others
- Willingness to adhere and contribute to internal coding standards
- Experience writing unit tests
- Strong communication skills
- B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of C++, Python, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS
- Experience with UI/UX or visualization design
- Experience with Linux
- Knowledge of databases
- Experience in the trading industry
Familiarity with automated testing concepts (TDD, BDD, mocks, how to structure code to be easily testable, etc)
