Cisco Network Engineer BGP EIGRP
My client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our innovative and growing technology team. The ideal candidate is likely to have worked within the financial industry and be able to demonstrate a successful history in network architecture, design, maintenance and monitoring. We are looking for highly self-motivated multi-taskers who are comfortable working in a demanding, state of the art electronic trading environment.
What you’ll do as a Senior Network Engineer:
•Analyze business requirements and design, implement, and manage an effective (WAN/LAN) network that supports our current domestic trading platform and a future global platform
•Proactively identify enhancements to existing configurations, technologies or procedures to improve performance and reduce bottlenecks
•Evaluate current/new technology and network providers on an ongoing basis to ensure that the trading infrastructure remains stable, competitive and cost effective
•Work closely with our entire IT team as well as traders to improve all aspects of our infrastructure
•Day to day support of network and application environments
•Assist in hardware/software evaluation and make recommendations on purchases
•Ability to multitask and meet numerous business goals
•Work on open sourced and proprietary monitoring tools that are customized to fit our business
•Assisting in breaking down complex issues within the network stack
•Document and focus on automation of all our day to day operations
Qualities that make great candidates:
•Minimum of 7 years’ experience working with Juniper/Arista/Cisco
•CCIE level expertise in BGP, iBGP, eBGP, OSPF and Multicast routing
•Experience designing and maintaining CWDM/DWDM networks
•Extensive knowledge of Exchange network topologies
•Strong knowledge of low latency Exchange implementations
•Experience in IP telephony, multi campus video conferencing, Hoot-n-holler, instant messaging
•Familiarity designing a diverse path/low latency WAN utilizing multiple vendors
•Multiple years of experience in maintaining internet security and actively managing VPN connections
•Experience performing network traffic and protocol analysis using standard industry tools (Wireshark, tcpdump)
•Background in hardware or software based messaging protocols
•Scripting language experience such as python is a plus
