The Sr. Engineer demonstrates technical/professional growth annually by maintaining active membership in professional organizations and participating in technical seminars/courses.
Essential Functions:
- Candidate must be knowledgeable of engineering & sizing HVAC systems for biotech and pharmaceutical facilities with emphasis on production areas, laboratories, and other clean spaces. HVAC experience in offices and public spaces would be helpful, but not necessary.
- Collects and prepares data/information, performs detailed engineering calculations, and writes formal engineering/technical reports.
- Develops equipment technical specifications & data sheets, performs technical evaluation of bids, and recommends best value design which meets client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability and safety.
- Leadership in field work by checking installations and problem solving activities.
- Performs calculation and drawing checking and vendor drawing reviews.
- Serves as Project Lead and/or Discipline Lead for select single- and select multi-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scopes of work, making staffing recommendations, completing quality processes, managing budget, schedule, and work activities of mechanical engineers and designers, providing monthly Discipline updates, and attending project meetings.
- Interacts with Clients to convey project design and identify scope changes.
- Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline required
- PE license required
- 15 years experience designing HVAC systems for biotech and pharmaceutical facilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of BIM / Revit, AutoCAD 3D is required
- Ability to lead design team and collaborate with other team members and other disciplines
