Senior Accountant
Allentown, PA
$65-75,000 and Bonus
Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will have a strong foundation of accounting as well as the ability to handle a large volume of data. Core functions will be focused around recording transactions and improving the operating effectiveness for contract and revenue accounting processes, close functions, and other related accounting projects.
Responsibilities:
- Uses accounting concepts (US GAAP/ IFRS) to understand and document financial implications of revenue transactions.
- Responsible for recording journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Perform month end close in regards to plants, facilities, and other contracts
- Exercise accuracy in calculating and reconciling numbers from different sources; periodically test reports to improve operations and for SOX compliance. Design & produce supporting schedules and analysis to explain financial results and variances. Proactively identify risks and areas of improvement and make recommendations.
- Work closely with the financial analysis department to assist with monthly forecasts
- Work with facilities to setup Contracts in the ERP system, input and upload accounting/billing data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Public Accounting Experience Highly Preferred
- 3+ years of prior revenue and/or contract accounting experience.
- MBA/CPA as are assets but not required.
