Azure Architect Consultant ( Multiple)
Responsibilities
Candidates should be self-starters that love to learn new technologies, as this will be an integral part of the position. The ideal individual will have a blend of development, data platform, and infrastructure skills and experiences.
This position will work with other practices to help accelerate adoption of, architect and implement Cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS), and deliver new business capabilities with market speed & agility.
- Maintain knowledge with changes to the Azure, including IaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Ability to deploy Azure offerings including both the IaaS and PaaS offering.
- Effectively communicate the differences between Azure and on-site technologies and the benefits of each type of deployment.
- Effectively communicate how Azure and on site technologies can work together.
- The base knowledge required:
- Ability to create a data-driven ASP.net web site and web service.
- Basic networking, sub-nets, DNS, DHCP, firewalls and VPN’s.
- Hyper-V virtualization.
- PowerShell and scripting experience.
- Knowledge of Active Directory concepts.
- The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the following:
- Existing Azure offerings such as EMS, Azure AD basic and Premium, PaaS websites, PaaS SQL platforms and virtualization technologies.
- ASP.NET Development
- AD Federation Services or Identity Management.
- Ability to build, test, and deploy workloads for cloud and hybrid cloud applications.
- PaaS websites, service bus and service bus relays.
- Azure Mobile Services
- Understanding of highly available SQL Server configuration and technologies.
- Cloud Storage for applications and workloads.
- Identify emerging technologies and partner with Cloud Architecture, Engineering, and Developers to determine enhancements to technologies or platforms that can benefit the business and application teams.
- Work with customers to understand their business needs and how cloud technologies can fit into their existing infrastructure.
- Maintain awareness of business needs and changing technology landscape, relative to public cloud.
- Manages the successful completion of support project initiatives; must comply to the service level agreement and be available and respond in a timely manner to customer needs.
- Provides pre-sales technical support, including completing the technical aspects of the proposal/statement of work.
- Acts as the customer’s trusted advisor and identifies and pursues additional opportunities.
- Mentors less experienced consultants and/or students/interns.
- Works with Principal Consultant to provide adequate opportunity for on-going skills training for members of project team(s).
- Ability to understand customers’ business and the impacts of technology on the business.
- Conducts assessments from a business perspective.
- Writes detailed project plans and assesses customer needs and determines appropriate resources.
- Manages quality assurance by reviewing the team’s work and providing feedback in a positive and constructive manner.
- Regularly updates key client contacts as to status of project.
- Handles serious customer concerns.
- Involves Principal Consultant in critical issues.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent experience/knowledge
- Minimum Certification Requirements:
- Within twelve months of employment, Infrastructure Engineers are required to be a Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
- As part of the individual’s professional development plans (updated at least once/year), additional certifications and skills will be identified and be required for on-going employment.
- Experience with the current releases of Microsoft Windows server, Windows workstation products, and experience with other Microsoft server-based products preferred
