Job Details:
A leading food manufacturer in the Philadelphia-area has an immediate need in South Jersey for a Quality Assurance Manager to plan, coordinate, and direct their quality program.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Ensures the quality of products by enforcing SQF (safe quality food), GMP’s (good manufacturing practices), SOP’s (standard operating procedures), SSOP’s (sanitation standard operating procedures), and the HACCP plan.
- Provides leadership and direction to quality technicians.
- Oversees the proper testing procedures on raw materials and finished products.
- Ensures the efficacy of the current sanitation program.
- Coordinates the appropriate corrective action of all FDA concerns.
- Monitors and supervises pest control and service contracts.
- Determines and directs the proper action needed for all QC holds.
- Conducts weekly meetings pertaining to quality assurance practices and safety.
- Supports production departments by recommendations needed for continuous quality product improvement.
- Responsible for inspecting facility on a monthly basis and maintaining documentation.
Qualified Candidates Must Possess:
- Bachelor's in Food Science or related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant managerial experience.
- HACCP implementation and training experience.
- The ability to Identify and resolve quality and food safety issues.
- GMP, food safety & security, sanitation, pest control and quality systems experience.
- Background with continuous improvement initiatives via Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
- Food/beverage manufacturing experience is required.
