RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Process Engineer you will work with all the elements involved in producing a particular product. This involves overseeing the quality, efficiency, and safety of the current manufacturing processes by implementing process controls and developing quality assurance plans, as well as development of new processes and continuous improvement on current processes in order to further reduce cost position. You may work with either internal customers and/or external vendors in providing process knowledge and driving improvements in safety, quality, and costs. Work directly with Quality, Procurement, and other engineering departments on Corrective Action Requests and Vendor Corrective Action Requests.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
  • Improve current process capability and production volume while maintaining quality standards.
  • Develop new processes as part of new product introduction or continuous improvement plans in order to improve safety, quality, cycle times, and costs.
  • Utilize various tools; Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools and metrics, to proactively monitor and identify improvements to either internal or external processes.
  • Provide input and direction on Root Cause Analysis for Corrective Action Requests and Vendor Corrective Action Requests.
  • Utilize Impact Quality principles in order to drive Corrective and Preventative action and establish Zero Defect capable processes for internal and external products.
  • Periodic process audits for internal customers and external vendors to monitor process controls.
  • Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

 EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Engineering or the equivalent in practical experience
  • 5-10 years of technical knowledge; manufacturing knowledge of flow meters, electronics or measurement equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge and utilization of quality related tools including, but not limited to, SPC, AQP, and Quality Systems.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including strong listening skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with many different areas of the company. Will work with operations, product management, engineering, quality, and procurement.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn about new processes with very little information provided.
  • Knowledge of Impact Quality principles and SMIQ project experience is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma training is a plus.
