The Technical Mobile Developer role focuses on designing complex applications to solve business problems leveraging mobile technologies. The primary focus is on innovative execution of ideas and concepts that will drive the company forward in a quick and agile manner. The ideal candidate will thrive in seeking challenging problems, proposing and presenting solutions, building relationships, soliciting feedback, and finding ways to drive innovation.
Responsibilities
• Identify and develop innovative technology solutions that enable business strategies and that are highly scalable and agile in the following areas:
o Mobile application development
o Mobile technologies
o Mobile development and testing tools
o Mobile delivery platforms
• Identify, evaluate, and drive the development of new products and services through use of mobile application and platform technologies.
• Conducts proofs of concepts around mobile applications and platform technologies and make recommendations based on their outcomes.
• Publish direction statements that guide planning and implementation of strategies and innovations.
• Collaborate with business partners, technology architects and other developers to develop solutions that integrate well across platforms.
• Builds and maintains relationships with business and technology partners as needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Clearly and effectively communicates ideas and information to others, particularly through deliverable creation.
• Builds upon knowledge of common tools and methodologies; and when to apply them based on the situation and specific needs.
• Understands how to identify client needs through research, working session outputs, client interviews, etc…
• Understands the implication of client needs and provides recommendations
• Perform research, information gathering, analysis and documentation and applies appropriate methodology with a moderate level of guidance and direction where appropriate.
• Helps design information gathering questions, conducts interviews, focus groups and workshops with supervision where appropriate.
• Takes a delivery lead role on varying complexity of projects
• Learns and applies the knowledge, ground rules and perspective provided by more experienced team members.
Qualifications
• Two to six years experience as a developer in one or more of the following:
o iOS - iPhone/iPod/iPad, Objective-C
o Android - Java specifically for Android development
o Mobile web - HTML5/AJAX/JavaScript/JQuery/REST specifically for mobile web apps
o Unity/C# - Specifically for iOS, Android, or mobile web apps
• Extensive experience designing and developing cross-browser custom controls (server-side and client-side),
• Deep knowledge of presentation layer design patterns, and a passion for emerging technologies.
• Experience developing custom frameworks and re-usable components
• Specialized focus on presentation layer technologies including custom server-side and client-side controls
• Web development industry standards and best practices
• Browser expertise – Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome
• Strong knowledge of design patterns
• Automated testing patterns and tools
• Tuning & testing for performance, scalability, availability, and resiliency for Java applications
• Strong knowledge of security (risks and threats, authentication, authorization, certificates, encryption)
