Survey Project Manager – NJDOT Focus
A growing engineering and surveying firm is hiring a Survey Project Manager with strong NJDOT project experience to lead transportation-related survey efforts. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage projects, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality deliverables on complex public infrastructure work.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead survey projects tied to NJDOT standards and requirements from kickoff through completion
- Manage scope, schedules, budgets, and client communication
- Oversee field and office teams performing ROW, boundary, topographic, and control surveys
- Prepare proposals, estimates, and support ongoing business development
- Ensure compliance with NJDOT procedures, QA/QC standards, and safety protocols
- Review and approve final survey deliverables
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of land surveying experience with a strong focus on NJDOT projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams
- Expertise in ROW, boundary, topographic, and survey control work
- Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, and Leica equipment/software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- NJ and/or NY Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
- Experience working with public agencies and transportation infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer and advanced survey workflows
