Software Engineer
My client has a full time opening for a Software Engineer focused on Middleware. Role is primarily remote and does require occasional on site. So you must live in the Greater Philly area and have hardware experience. The ideal candidate will be a Mid to Sr. level Software Engineer with expertise in the Microsoft technology stack (.NET, C#, SQL). You will tackle complex problems, contribute to new product lines, and expand existing solutions, with rewards for creativity and innovation.
Responsibilities

Develop well-structured, well-commented solutions for complex integrations and challenges

Collaborate with 3rd-party Point of Sale systems and hardware devices

Maintain and enhance middleware solutions

Conduct thorough unit and system testing

Participate in a Scrum team to create stories, tasks, estimates, and delivery timelines
-
Adhere to and contribute to technical and coding standards, tools, and platforms
-
Define and create reusable application frameworks and common libraries
-
Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test plans, coverage, execution, and defect resolution
Required Skills and Experience

BS/BA in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Developer/Engineer

Minimum 2 years of experience working with hardware devices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in .NET 4.6.2+ and Visual Studio 2019+

Expertise in C# and object-oriented design

Experience with Windows Servers/Services

Knowledge of building multi-threaded, high-throughput, transactional software

Direct experience interacting with hardware devices

Commitment to industry best practices in source code control, architecture, coding, and testing

Experience building and documenting interfaces for 3rd-party consumption

Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, WiFi, SSH, SSL)

Strong abstract thinking and innovative problem-solving skills

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Extreme Programming methodologies
