Senior Traffic Engineer
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Traffic Signal Engineer to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and municipal projects, including traffic signal, ITS, and broadband fiber designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist in traffic signal, ITS, and broadband fiber designs
- Work on NCDOT roadway/highway projects and municipal street/pedestrian facility designs
- Ensure adherence to NCDOT traffic signal design standards and MUTCD protocols
- Perform field investigations, construction inspections, and traffic signal equipment inventories
- Collaborate with clients, public agencies, and occasionally present at public meetings
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience in transportation design
- Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, Geopack, and Corridor Modeling
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in NC (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- NCDOT design experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering, including TIA, signal timing, and pavement marking
- Excellent communication, client development, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while adhering to project budgets and schedules
- Valid driver’s license
