Paving Project Manager

Our heavy civil construction contractor client is actively seeking a paving project manager. Paving projects include but are not limited to roads, highways, interstate construction and commercial & industrial paving projects. Relocation candidates will be considered!!!

Responsibilities & Duties:
This position is responsible for estimation and project management of heavy civil projects such as roads, bridges, commercial and industrial site work, concrete paving, concrete flatwork, pavement patching and underground utilities as well as other related scopes.
As a project manager, candidates will be responsible for the overall management of their projects from award to close out. Duties include creation of schedules, coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel. Estimating and submitting change orders. Creation and updates of progress schedules. Post bid analysis, budget forecasting. Maintaining client, subcontractor, and supplier relationships.
Experience:
- At least six (6) or more years’ experience in the management of commercial, civil/heavy highway asphalt paving experience.
- Experience with public and private projects including DOT work
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well on your own or within a team.
- Strong background in heavy civil construction
- Ability to function as a team builder/player
- Provides ongoing project information and project reviews as required.
- Ensures scope of work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management and all project participants, including the client.
- Determines controls and maintains overall project and discipline schedules and budgets.
- Tracks schedule and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on track.
- Identifies and secures necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
- Maintains ongoing communication with client at his/her level and works with project teams to adjust as necessary to comply with clients’ needs within contractual obligations, or to adjust project deliverables to meet the client and stakeholders needs.
- Follows and ensures conformance with safety policies and procedures.
Additional Qualities sought but not required:
- Experience with software applications such as: Microsoft office, HCSS heavy bid, Primavera, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD
- Experience with DOT a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree a plus, not required (engineering, construction management or related field)
