An excellent Medical Communications company client of ours is actively seeking an industry experienced Medical Director/ Scientific Director with publications- publication planning experience. Individuals at the Associate Medical Director seeking and ready for continued career advancement will be considered.

Responsibilities & attributes sought:
- Strong background and foundation in Publications & Publication Planning and/or Medical Affairs.
- Participate in the development of concepts and planning for assigned client/account projects, working with clients, staff management, interact with KOL’s & faculty
- This position is responsible for QA/QC, development of editorial content, and maintaining the scientific integrity of all medical communication deliverables produced for assigned client(s)/account(s)
- Provide scientific and strategic insight for content development
- Provide scientific support towards organizational business development activities
- Creation, execution and ensure compliance of scientifically sound publications & publication planning activities within assigned account(s)
- Understanding of current industry guidelines
- KOL interaction and relationship building
- Provide strategic scientific expertise for new business efforts
- Ensure client projects & tasks are completed on time and within budget
- Initiative to gain necessary background on product and/or therapeutic category
- Interaction with faculty, authors, clients and/or other key opinion leaders
- Provide assigned client(s)/account(s) strategic insight on presenting data in specific journals or forums
Requirements:
- Qualified individuals will have approximately five (5) or more years of agency medical communications experience (required)
- Publications- Publication Planning or Medical Affairs experience is required
- CMPP certification a plus
- Advanced degree in the Life Sciences (MS, PhD, PharmD, MD)
- Experience utilizing online medical resources (Ex; PubMed)
- Experience mentoring and managing staff/direct reports and/or freelance support a plus
- Strong scientific acumen and ability to remain up to date on therapeutic landscape
- A team player with the ability to lead by example with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and time management
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
