Lead Cognitive Engineer - Human Factors
Role:
As a Lead Cognitive Engineer - Human Factors, you'll be involved with designing and evaluating systems and work environments/workflows the organization's professionals. This person is a key to help to improve the employee experience, safety and satisfaction, corrective action programs, performance improvement and process improvement. This is a position where you'll understand what actions employees are taking out in the field. By gather data, you'll compile reports and trainings on what are good actions and bad actions, why they are taken, how they are taken, what is the human factors that play into it and how can you influence that person to make the right decision over the wrong decision!
Responsibilities:
- Develop user and workplace profiles and usage scenarios, task analysis, requirements specification, generation of design concepts
- Design programs to help evaluate quantitative and qualitative analysis to help improve systems, performance improvements, and overall help decrease costs
- Provide guidance from scientific principles and theory to workers out in the field
- Plan, design, and execute usability evaluations, scenarios/use cases, and other user-centered research; contribute to design recommendations and improvements to the user experience.
- Work with senior leadership on the implementation of the human factors program within their respective organizations.
- To put it simply, make the hard/action that will lead to danger, injury, wrong doing, or bad decisions impossible and make the correct decision/action easy or common nature
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required - preferably within Industrial Physcology, Cognitive Behavior, etc.
- Master's or MBA is highly preferred
- 7+ years of prior hands on working human factors experience in the field
- Experience with systems and process rather than user experience design (software)
- Strong analytical, statistical, and metrics experience is required
