Controls Program Manager
My client is looking to expand their team in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
The Controls Program Manager is responsible and accountable for the Project Control function. This position is key for the operation of the Messer’s capital project program and is a member of the project execution leadership team. The position is also responsible for the critical function of spend reporting into the integrated financial planning system. In addition, the Program Manager is responsible for the back-office functions that enable project execution and is the key interface for the department to Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Finance.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead preparation of monthly project reports for the department including future spending requirements. Drive company business processes (those not controlled by execution) to align and optimize project execution delivery (procurement, payables, treasury, etc)
- Assist in preparing capital project budgets
- Review EPC progress reports and scheduling
- Coordinate and be champion of the SAP process
- Preparation, evaluation and monitoring of Department cost center budget
- Effective Management of all documentation pertaining to costs, schedule, etc
- Proficient in using industry standard scheduling tools.
- Good knowledge of industry standard estimating tools
- Work closely /monitor projects during execution/ periodically visit sites
- Maintain databases for proposals and projects
Qualified candidates should have a background in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mech or Chem) or Business (Accounting, Finance)
- Master's Degree (preferred, not required) in MBA, Finance, or Project Execution
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls, accounting, or project execution.
- Experience in project management is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Project or Primavera, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes
- Extensive project controls experience with heavy industrial projects (e.g. power plants, chemical plants, refineries, air separation plants)
