Senior Auditor
Role:
As a Senior Associate and part of the audit department within this public accounting firm, you will gain specialized knowledge through collaboration with internal and external clients across real estate, construction, insurance, and financial services clientele. You'll work with companies of all sizes, including mid-market, to get to know their businesses, and then assure that the financial information they report to the public is clear and reliable.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with examining audit records and income statements.
- Participate in audit teams that test internal controls to ensure effectiveness.
- Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from the analysis of complex financial statements and communicate them to the team.
- Inform supervisors of the engagement status and matters.
- Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives and the client’s engagement history.
- Identify gaps, deficiencies or non-compliance in business procedures, processes or systems, and communicate appropriate remedial action.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university and eligible to sit for the CPA exam in their home office state
- 2+ years of prior public accounting experience and/or corporate audit or accounting within the insurance industry
- Certifications are a plus (CPA or CIA)
- Ability to meet challenging client requirements and to provide services while possessing strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel
